{"id":7093,"date":"2016-02-03T08:42:11","date_gmt":"2016-02-03T16:42:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/casgc.ucsd.edu\/?p=7093"},"modified":"2016-02-03T08:42:11","modified_gmt":"2016-02-03T16:42:11","slug":"space-life-sciences-program-accepting-applications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/casgc.ucsd.edu\/?p=7093","title":{"rendered":"Space Life Sciences Program Accepting Applications"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Space Life Sciences Training Program (SLSTP) is seeking student applications for\u00a0the 2016 summer program, which will\u00a0run from <span data-term=\"goog_1316910124\">June\u00a013<\/span>\u00a0to August\u00a019, 2016 at NASA Ames Research Center.\u00a0The Space Life Sciences Training Program (SLSTP) provides undergraduate students entering their junior or senior years with professional experience in space life science disciplines. The primary goal of the program is to train the next generation of scientists and engineers, enabling NASA to meet future research and development challenges in the space life sciences.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Students who are\u00a0interested\u00a0may apply through\u00a0NASA\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/intern.nasa.gov\/\">One Stop Shopping Initiative\u00a0<\/a>(OSSI) website. Prospective applicants must pre-register for a student account and create an interest profile on the OSSI\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/intern.nasa.gov\/ossi\/web\/students\/login\/\">student login page.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The summer application window closes March 1, 2016, but the SLSTP management team will begin reviewing applications starting February 1, 2016.\u00a0Selections will be completed by early March, 2016 and will continue until all positions are filled.\u00a0 Each SLSTP opportunity requires a separate narrative statement detailing why the individual would like to work on that specific project.\u00a0 Please email Hami Ray at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:hami.e.ray@nasa.gov\">hami.e.ray@nasa.gov<\/a>\u00a0with any questions.<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Please note that in addition to the research project, the SLSTP program includes a group project, and some project based training.
