There are 15 slots available for students to learn how to build and launch level 1 and level 2 high powered rockets, and learn all the math and science involved.\u00a0 <!--more-->Students will be given the opportunity to earn their National Association of Rocketry Level 1 certificate.\u00a0 For the level 2 launch, student teams will perform hand calculations and simulations, then compare these estimations with the results from the level 2 flight, and present it to NASA engineers and personnel. \u00a0The purpose is to give students early encouragement to stay enrolled in a STEM degree program by completing relevant and exciting hands-on projects.\u00a0 Students will be paid a stipend of $2400 to participate in this program.\u00a0 Some travel funds are available for students that live more than 50 miles from Kennedy Space Center.\u00a0 The program will be held at KSC July 11 \u2013 Aug 5.\u00a0 Students must be U.S. Citizens to participate.\u00a0 Applications are due <span data-term=\"goog_302398298\">June 20, 2016<\/span>.\u00a0 Please note that this is a short turn around.\u00a0 Please see link below:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/redir.aspx\/?REF=4fSQyhIthgt-ekgw91fqPtnkjj98Frv3_niUqxlX_fppfnJmXpTTCAFodHRwczovL3NlY29yLnd1Zm9vLmNvbS9mb3Jtcy9uYXNhLWtzYy1sYXVuY2hpbmctdG8tbGVhcm4v\">https:\/\/secor.wufoo.com\/forms\/nasa-ksc-launching-to-learn\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NASA is pleased to offer the\u00a0Launching 2 Learn program this summer.\u00a0 This opportunity is available for rising college freshmen and sophomores majoring in a STEM degree.
