NASA’s Mars Curiosity Rover Celebrates One Martian Year
- On June 23, 2014
On June 24, 2014 NASA’s Mars Curiosity Rover will complete one Martian Year of service, which is the equivalent of 687 Earth days. The primary goal of the mission was accomplished when it determined that Mars was once habitable for simple, microbial life forms. The rover sampled material from two mudstone slabs located on the Red Planet. Analysis of these samples found that they contained elemental ingredients for life.
