Members of the California Space Grant Consortium recently attended the National Space Grant Directors Meeting in Washington, D.C. Meetings were held to discuss future plans, projects and activities at space grant consortia across the country. The National Council of Space Grant Directors presented the Distinguished Service Award to Katherine Coleman Goble Johnson. She is the former NASA Research Mathematician who is the central figure of the book and Academy Award nominated movie, Hidden Figures. Past recipients of this award include John Glenn, Sally Ride, Neil deGrasse Tyson, James Van Allen and Bill Nye.
