NASA CubeSat Launch Initiative
- On August 4, 2017
NASA is seeking proposals for small satellite payloads called CubeSats to fly on rockets planned to launch or be deployed from the International Space Station between 2018 and 2021. The CSLI provides CubeSat developers with a low-cost pathway to conduct research in space that advances NASA’s strategic goals in the areas of science, exploration, technology development, education and operations. The initiative allows students, teachers and faculty to gain hands-on experience designing, building, and operating these small research satellites.
NASA provides integration and other services as necessary to complete the launch activity. Collaborators will be responsible for securing funding to support the development of their CubeSat payload and for all other costs incurred by the Collaborator to participate in the CubeSat Launch Initiative. This opportunity is open to U.S. nonprofit organizations and accredited educational organizations.
